How to download a Facebook video

Facebook lets you save some videos to your device through its own "Save video" option, but that feature isn't available everywhere, and it doesn't work at all in a browser. Here's a way that works consistently, from a phone or a computer.

Step 1: Copy the video link

1. Open the video — either a standalone video post, a Watch link, or a video shared in a group or Page.
2. Tap the Share button underneath it.
3. Choose Copy link. It'll look something like https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=1234567890123456 or https://fb.watch/AbCdEfGhIj/.

Step 2: Paste it into VidPeel

1. Go back to the VidPeel homepage.
2. Paste the link into the box and click Get video.
3. Once the preview loads, click Download MP4.

Public videos only

VidPeel can only fetch videos from posts, Pages, or groups that are set to public. Videos posted with "Friends only" or restricted group visibility aren't retrievable by any external tool, by design — that's Facebook's privacy setting working as intended, not a limitation of VidPeel specifically.

A note on using the video afterward

Downloading your own uploads, or public videos for personal, non-commercial use, is generally fine. Reposting someone else's video without credit or permission — especially for commercial purposes — can violate Facebook's terms and, depending on the content, copyright law. Use this responsibly.
