How to download a video pin from Pinterest
Pinterest doesn't offer a built-in way to save a video pin to your device — the app and website are built around browsing and re-pinning, not downloading. Here's how to save a copy for yourself.
Step 1: Copy the pin link
- Open the video pin, either in the Pinterest app or at pinterest.com.
- Tap the Share icon on the pin.
- Tap Copy link. It'll look something like
https://www.pinterest.com/pin/1234567890123456789/or a shortenedhttps://pin.it/AbCdEfGlink.
Step 2: Paste it into VidPeel
- Go back to the VidPeel homepage.
- Paste the link into the box and click Get video.
- Once the preview loads, click Download MP4.
Public pins and boards only
VidPeel can only retrieve pins that are publicly visible — the same content anyone could find without logging in. Pins on private or secret boards aren't accessible to any external tool.
A note on using the video afterward
Most pins link back to content originally posted elsewhere (a creator's own video, a brand's ad, etc.) — Pinterest is often a repost platform, not the original source. Downloading a pin doesn't change who owns that content. Use it for your own reference, and credit or seek permission from the original creator before republishing anything.
