This policy explains what VidPeel ("we", "our", "the site") collects when you use vidpeel.onrender.com, and how that information is used. We've tried to write it in plain language rather than dense legal boilerplate.

What we collect

• Video links you submit. When you paste a URL to fetch a video, that link is sent to our server so it can retrieve the video. We do not store submitted links or the videos themselves after your download completes — files are deleted from our server immediately after being sent to your browser.
• Basic technical logs. Like most web servers, ours may temporarily log IP addresses and request timestamps for security and debugging (e.g. detecting abuse). These logs are not sold or shared, and are periodically purged.
• Cookies and ads. This site is supported by advertising. The advertising network(s) we work with may set cookies or use similar technology in your browser to show relevant ads and measure performance. We don't control this data collection directly — you can review or opt out of it through your browser's own privacy settings (most browsers let you block third-party cookies entirely, or clear cookies for this site specifically), or through the ad industry opt-out tools at optout.aboutads.info and youronlinechoices.com.

What we don't do

• We don't require an account, so we don't collect names, emails, or passwords to use the core tool.
• We don't sell personal data to third parties.
• We don't keep a history of what you've downloaded.

Third-party content

VidPeel retrieves publicly available videos from third-party platforms (TikTok, Instagram, X, Facebook) at your request. We don't host or claim ownership of that content — it belongs to its original creators and remains subject to each platform's own terms.

Security

Video links and files are transmitted over HTTPS. Downloaded files are held on our server only for the brief moment it takes to send them to your browser, then deleted — we don't maintain a persistent store of user-submitted content. As with any web service, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we don't retain the data long enough to make that a meaningful ongoing risk.

Children's privacy

VidPeel is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "last updated" date above.
