How to save an Instagram Reel, post, or video
Instagram does not offer a native "save to gallery" button for most video posts — screen recording degrades resolution and captures notification clutter. Here is how to download clean, full-resolution MP4 video and carousel slides directly.
Step 1: Get the post link
- Open the Reel, video, or carousel post in the Instagram mobile app or in your desktop browser.
- Tap the paper-plane Share icon or the ⋯ (three dots) menu.
- Tap Copy link.
Step 2: Paste it into VidPeel
- Head over to the VidPeel homepage.
- Paste the copied link into the input field and tap Get video.
- VidPeel fetches the original stream: click Download 4K / Ultra HD MP4 for videos, save individual photos/videos from carousels, or download background music via Download MP3.
Why some links don't work
VidPeel can only access content from public accounts and posts. If an account is set to private, or if the post is age-restricted or requires account authentication to view, VidPeel will respect those platform restrictions and cannot process the link.
Use it responsibly
Saving your own Reels for backup, editing, or cross-posting is recommended creator practice. When saving other creators' videos, keep them for personal reference, always give visible attribution, and do not distribute without creator authorization.
